The Christmas Fair at the Polish Social Centre created a warm, welcoming atmosphere where community members could learn about care sector opportunities in an informal, festive setting. Bury Care Academy's stand featured an interactive indoor golf challenge, adding a unique and engaging element to traditional careers information.
Visitors tested their putting skills on the indoor driving range, competed for prizes, and had relaxed conversations with the recruitment team about the diverse career pathways available in health and social care. The casual, fun environment made it easy for people to ask questions and explore opportunities without pressure.
Beyond the Bury Care Academy stand, the fair offered traditional Christmas activities including card making, carol singing, mince pies, and raffle prizes, creating a truly festive community experience.

Bury Care Academy's presence at the event served a dual purpose: supporting our local community and Persona Care and Support while sharing information about rewarding careers in health and social care.
The team was there primarily to show solidarity with Persona and celebrate the community we serve. As part of the festive celebrations, Bury Care Academy organized a Christmas golf tournament, inviting residents, fair attendees, and community members to test their skills on the indoor driving range and compete for prizes. The tournament created a fun, engaging activity that brought people together in the spirit of the season.
While visitors enjoyed the golf challenge and festive atmosphere, it also provided natural opportunities for conversations about the diverse career pathways available in care. The team discussed various roles suitable for people at different life stages, whether someone is taking their first step into care work or looking for their next career move.
The informal, festive setting allowed for genuine conversations about what working in care actually involves, the rewards it offers, and the flexible working arrangements that make care careers accessible to people with different circumstances and commitments. However, the primary focus remained on community connection and celebration, with career discussions flowing naturally from the relationships built through shared activities and conversation.
See all the festive fun!
